Virtual Reality

Virtual reality (VR) implies that 3D computer data is passed to complex processes or systems and is presented as a visually perceivable space for human beings. The user can visually experience perspective, motion, shape and color effects, while the interaction with the virtual environment takes place in real-time.

To achieve this, virtual reality needs an interface which enables and coordinates the human-computer-interaction.

CIROS Studio and CIROS VR provide outstanding possibilities, an efficient, intuitive handled and modular concept. All modules, composed of software and hardware elements, are fully compatible to each other and can be successively modified as the project, the requirements and the budget change.

Virtual reality amazes with newly opened up opportunities. But its emotional fascination is even exceeded by its economical potential and synergies:

  • The integrated system CIROS VR generates and uses the once created data for 3D simulation as well as for the virtual reality based upon this simulation.
  • After passing through the virtual test and training phases this data can be directly transferred into and applied to reality. Additionally the data forms the base for controlling and operating real production lines and delivers valuable information used in real product development and modification.
  • As a result of the extensive virtual testing, the cost and effort of construction as well as the risk and the amount of errors are reduced dramatically.

Most of the research effort is done by the MMI der RWTH Aachen with which we are working in close collaboration on the subject of research and technology of virtual reality.

Conclusion: CIROS is already distributed worldwide, with more than 6000 licences for the different kinds of products. It is the ideal platform for 3D visualisation of products and installations. Furthermore it is also ideal for presenting complex processes and systems as an easily understandable simulation during marketing presentations, training courses and test and development phases.

Virtual reality is becoming a significant part of reality.
